About Us

Sam Brown Cottage has been lovingly restored over the past 5 years and is now available for guests.

Your hosts Bev and Paul bought the Sam Brown property in 2018.

Sam Brown Cottage is the original timber homestead and is thought to be around 80 to 100 years old.

HISTORY

Frazerview lies to the west of the Cunningham Highway and forms the western boundary of  the Scenic Rim. The district of Frazerview was first settled by farmers such as Sam Brown during the early 1900s, following the subdivision of the early large station runs.

The early farmers grew crops and kept cattle. Today Frazerview is still farmed, is sparsely populated and retains its rural outlook.

RESTORATION

After purchasing the property, Bev and Paul made the decision to save this piece of district history. Once the decision was made, they embarked upon a 3 year journey to sympathetically restore Sam Brown's Cottage with the vision of sharing it with others. It is now restored and modernised ready to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the Scenic Rim.
